The integrated control system was built around the Woodward EasYgen controller. Woodward EasYgen3000 series will be integrated for auto start/stop of the engine, synchronize and load control, including breaker controls in case of failure of the utility bus.
In combination with the LS5 utility breaker controller the new system has the ability to limit import kw control based on a pre-defined import level. A Remote Interface Panel was installed in the Control Room for remote monitoring and operator controls.
The 2301E electronic governor was configured for speed/frequency control and a Basler Automatic Voltage Regulator was integrated with the Easygen for voltage control and generator excitation.
Woodward HiProtec protection relays was used for generator and utility breaker protection to ensure that each breaker will trip under abnormal operating conditions such as reverse power, overcurrent, over/under voltages, etc. Each breaker has a dedicated HiProtec protection relay controller.
Arc Flash Relays are implemented to trip each breaker should an arc flash condition is detected.
This generator switchgear panel is divided into two sections; the upper section is used for high voltage components and busbars, the lower section contains the generator breaker cassette.
This panel is considered the main instrumentation and electrical control panel. It houses the generator controllers, such as the electronic governor, the power management controller and excitation controller.
This utility switchgear panel is divided into four sections; the upper front section is used for low voltage control components, the lower front section contains the breaker cassette; high voltage components are mounted in the upper rear section and the lower rear section contains the breaker busbar terminals.
